Bone Grafting and Sinus Lifts
Restore Bone. Regain Confidence. Rebuild Your Smile.
We offer advanced bone grafting and sinus lift procedures to help restore lost bone volume in the jaw and create a strong foundation for dental implants. If you’ve been told you don’t have enough bone to support implants, our team can provide solutions tailored to your needs.
Thanks to modern advancements in regenerative dentistry and oral surgery, rebuilding the jawbone is now more predictable than ever. Whether you’ve experienced bone loss from missing teeth, trauma, age, or denture use, we’re here to help you achieve healthy, lasting results.
Why Bone Volume Matters for Dental Implants
Dental implants rely on a solid foundation of healthy jawbone to ensure long-term stability. When teeth have been missing for a long time, the jawbone begins to shrink due to lack of stimulation. This natural resorption process reduces both bone height and width, making implant placement more difficult without grafting.
What Is Bone Grafting?
Bone grafting is a regenerative procedure that encourages new bone growth in areas where the jawbone is too thin, weak, or deficient. It serves as a biological scaffold to stimulate your body’s natural healing response.
Common Reasons Patients Need Bone Grafts:
- Tooth loss for extended periods
- Dentures or bridges that no longer fit properly
- Bone loss from gum disease
- Damage from previous oral surgeries or trauma
- Genetic or developmental bone conditions
Bone Graft Materials We Offer
We offer a range of grafting materials, all FDA-approved and biocompatible, to support optimal healing and integration:
1. Allografts (Donor Bone)
Human donor bone is processed and sterilized to provide a safe scaffold for new bone growth.
2. Autografts (Your Own Bone)
Bone is harvested from another area of your mouth, providing high compatibility and excellent healing potential.
3. Xenografts (Animal-Derived Bone)
Derived from bovine or porcine sources, these grafts are thoroughly purified and known for their long-lasting nature.
4. Alloplasts (Synthetic Options)
For patients who prefer non-organic options, synthetic materials provide effective alternatives for bone regeneration.
What is a Socket Bone Graft?
A socket bone graft, also called ridge preservation, is the most commonly performed graft. It is placed at the time of tooth extraction to maintain bone structure in preparation for a future implant. This technique typically allows for implant placement after four months of healing and adds only a few minutes to the extraction procedure.
What is a Sinus Lift?
A sinus lift, or sinus augmentation, is a grafting technique used to increase bone height in the back of the upper jaw. This is important when the sinus cavity has expanded, reducing the space available for implants. The procedure adds bone between the upper jaw and the sinus floor, creating enough vertical room for stable implant placement. In some cases, the lift can be done at the same time as implant placement.
What is Ridge Augmentation?
Ridge augmentation restores the natural shape and width of the jawbone that may have been lost due to tooth extraction or trauma. It’s commonly performed before placing implants and generally requires 4–6 months of healing depending on the severity of the bone loss.
Advanced Technology for Predictable Results
We utilize advanced regenerative techniques to support fast healing and optimal results. One example is the use of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF), created from your own blood. PRF is rich in growth factors and is added to bone grafts to accelerate healing and reduce inflammation.
Customized Treatment Planning
Every smile is unique, which is why each treatment is planned with precision.
During your consultation, we will:
Review your medical and dental history
- Capture digital X-rays
- Evaluate jawbone density and structure
- Understand your personal goals
- Build a personalized treatment plan
Our goal is to ensure that you feel confident and fully informed throughout the entire process.
What to Expect During the Process
Consultation & Imaging
You’ll meet with our oral surgeon or implant specialist to review your bone health and plan the procedure.
Grafting Procedure
Bone grafting or sinus lift surgery is performed in our surgical suite using local anesthesia or sedation.
Healing Phase
Bone growth and regeneration typically take 4–6 months. During this time, your body will rebuild strong, natural bone.
Implant Placement
Once healing is complete, your new bone structure is ready to support dental implants.
Final Restoration
After implant integration, a crown, bridge, or denture is securely attached—restoring both appearance and function.
